We are just back from our first visit to Bulgaria and I’m sure it wont be our last. The
Hotel was lovely, basic but comfortable furniture and most importantly very clean. Well
Situation for walking over to Old Nessebar, the beach and in general just getting around.
We stayed on a half board basis and found the food to be fine with a few choices each night so you could always find something to eat. The food in the hotel is served warm, this is to accommodate other nationalities staying who eat typically cold food but there was a microwave provided if you wanted the food any warmer. I personally liked this feature because I eat my food very hot. The hotel staff were all really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

We booked our trips through the animation team, which is run by Monty. We found him to be very pleasant, exceptionally helpful, taking time to explain all about the trips and what was and wasn’t included. They were also much more flexible and happy to detour. The best trips for us were the trip up the Blue Mountains, this was a lovely day out and Monty could tell us all about the local history of the small villages as we passed through. We took the chair lift up the side of the mountain, the views were spectacular. At the summit we had lunch and a walk round the lake giving us a chance to take in the beautiful countryside before heading back down the mountain by chairlift and on to a market for a spot of shopping.

We also went on the Jeep Safari, again book via Monty and he accompanied us on the trip. We had an absolutely fantastic day out, probably the best day of our holidays. The jeeps pick you up at the hotel, then you are taken off road, given the chance to have a drive of one if you want to and then the fun begins. Your ammunition for the day is as many bottles of water you can fit in the jeep and spraying it at the enemies in the other jeeps. There is also a lovely visit to a traditional Bulgarian house where you can try some traditional food and buy gifts, again we were made to fee very welcome and shown round a typical Bulgarian house. There was also time for lunch which was lovely, Chicken kebab and salad served with bread, time for fishing, shooting, taking a pedal boat our or just lazing around in the sun and on the way back it was more water fights… brilliant.

Old Nessebar is really fascination; there are load of nice restaurants and plenty of shops.
Take time to walk round, we managed to see something different almost every time we went.

All in all we would recommend the Marina Palace Hotel and highly recommend that you book you trips through Monty. We had a fantastic time and looking forward to our next visit.

I was in the Marina Palace last summer on holidays with a lot of my family and friends. I love the hotel and the staff. They couldn't of been any nicer. My family and i got on really well with the staff and had a great laugh with them. I also loved the way the hotel had and Irish bar in it as we are Irish!!! up the Irish!!! thank you for making our holiday a brilliant one and congratulations on such and beautiful and well run hotel! The hotel was excellent, a very modern hotel, newly built to a good specification. The decor was stylish and the rooms nicely appointed with comfortable beds.

The staff were friendly and helpful as far as possible but lacked training in some areas.

The food was terrible and we ate out most of the time, fortunately, good restaurants were nearby with good food reasonably priced.

We would go back to this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

The location was excellent.

The food was never hot! Breakfast choice was very limited indeed. Eating out of the Hotel was very reasonable indeed, so this shortcoming did not bother us too much.

We had a suite which was very spacious indeed. Down side was that these are at the front of the hotel which never gets the sun. Our maid could not have done better and all other staff were excellent. There was NO entertainment, which suited us.

Hotel was very noisy with the atrium carrying the sound both up and down. I would recommend ear plugs if you want to sleep deeply.

Roof-top swimming pool stunning, but very small.

I would not take children to this hotel as I do not feel the barriers surrounding the pool/verandas, etc are adequate.

No way is this a 4 star hotel, the staff were friendly, the hotel was kept clean, but the food was the worst I have ever seen and tasted. The food for breakfast was stone cold. There was no variety, the water for the tea and coffee was cold, dinner was always cold and very poor quality e.g. of four choices of main course one was chicken wings. One was chicken thighs, one was pork of very poor quality and one was lasagne need I say they were all cold, I know they say that cold food is a Bulgarian custom but the street cafes food is always served hot.

A 4 star hotel in accommodation and facilities, but has a diabolical restaurant, every mealtime guarantees a complaint of not enough choice, cold food, no tea bags, no milk, no water, no veg, and all greeted by a shake of the head. Simply the worst service you will hopefully ever get in a 4 star hotel restaurant. The Irish pub inside the hotel is the quietest you will find outside of Ireland on Good Friday. However the front bar on the main street(with peter, Nellie and daisy) and the rooftop bar(with drinks supplied by Mimi) made up for the inadequate training of the restaurant staff. Hopefully, the restaurant will get sorted for next year, as the hotel only opened in June improvements can only come in time.

We booked this hoilday on an allocation on arrival basis and we certainly not dissapointed. We arrived at the Marina Palace Hotel, Nessebur at just after midnight and as soon as we entered the Hotel we knew it was going to something special. The Hotel was completed and opened for business in June of this year. It is of modern design and is on 6 levels, served by 2 lifts. The hotel is stuated on the edge of the Black sea and overlooks Old Nessebur, which is a wonderfully preserved old town, of historic interest. We were on a half board basis and the meals were good if not brilliant. The dining room has a fantastic view overlooking the Black sea , with the staff very friendly and extremely helpful.

The swimming pool is situated on the roof of the hotel with further bathing areas beside the pool. The views from this vantage point are brilliant. The rooms are of a very good size, complete with balconies overlooking the Black sea. The rooms are well equipped including mini bar, satellite tv, bathroom complete with shower, bidet, hairdrier etc. The rooms also have a safe deposit box at no extra charge. The hotel is also situated at the edge of Nessebur, which was an ideal situation personally as we were nearer the Old Town, but if you were looking for something livelier, then it's only 10 mins from the popular resort of Sunny Beach. To us, the Old Town had much more character.

Although the hotel was situated near one of the main thoroughfares, no noise could be heard from inside the rooms and the hotel bar situated at the roadside appeared to be very popular with everyone. In addition to this bar, the hotel also had an Irish type bar and a roof top bar which was extremely relaxing and obviously offered great views.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a good quality hotel, and looking for a relaxing holiday, this hotel is ideally situated with easy access to clubs, bars and sightseeing, we would strongly recommend the Marina Palace.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in.The staff were helpful, the hotel spotless, but the hotel was not finished, lifts did not work and the food was rank,
Would I come again ? without a doubt yes, but on B&B
the top floor facilities are second to non, great pool,great sauna and steam room, great massage facilities.

In all brilliant, but get a new catering manager and some entertainment

Just back from this stunning brand new hotel in a stunning location overlooking Nessebar old town.It is built like a ship and is funished in an ultra modern style.

Lovely bedrooms with Fridge, safe, satalite Tv with 71 channels.(we even saw Wimbledon)The rooms have laminate wooden floors and have duvels on the beds which are wider than normal and have very thick mattresses. Even numbered rooms have the sun on an afternoons which is good if you want to sit on the balcony.

The food was fine for me but they allowed smoking in the dining room and the Germans tended to linger after eating having drinks and cigar like cigarettes. Some were only 3 foot from the food. There was a smaller no smoking room but it only had 5 tables and overlooked a concrete staircase whereas the main room overlooked the sea.This may be changed as the hotel is full because guests will have to queue while smokers occupy tables instead of going to the lounge areas.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpfull.

The swimming pool on the roof was surrounded by decking and there was 2 sunterraces with plenty of sunbeds.The view from here was amazing overlooking the old city,This was a stunning hotel in a stunning location ,7 minutes from the old city,and I would not hesitate in returning.

It is only in the Balkan brochure but we booked with Kwik Travel who use Med.hotels.com and book the flight with which ever company you want. It only cost us £235each as opposed to £435 with Balkan.

We were transfered in a mini bus with the rep from Med hotels.It only took 20 minutes.When we returned to the airport a vw golf transported us back in 15 minutes and we only spent a short time at the airport whereas people on our flight were picked up one hour before us on a coach.The transfer was arranged by hoteltransfer.com for £15 each.We flew with Balkan,but Kwik travel arrange flights on other airlines.

It was brilliant from start to finish and look forward to going back.

I will be returning to Bg next week, and hope to stay at the Marina Palace..... but only on B&B accommodation.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in but probably the worst that I’ve had the misfortune to eat in.

I would recommend that if food is your main criteria the Festa Panorama, would be a safer option
but if your prepared to eat out then the Marina Palace is the best hotel in Nessebar.
