Nine Resorts
Travel Bulgaria Russia, 23.02.2005
Nine coastal and mountainous resorts have entered the list of villages of national significance approved by the government. The Black Sea's Albena, Golden Sands, Sts. Konstantin and Elena, Sunny Beach, International Youth Center-Primorsko, Elenite and Dyuni, as well as Rhodopes' Pamporovo and Rila's Borovets has received this status with expectations to improve the coordination of institutions in the boost of local tourism. The construction and urbanization plans of these nine locations will be approved by the Regional Development Minister, unlike the practice to date when municipal councils decided on the local territorial and regional policy. The government believes the new status of these villages would find an appropriate place in the overall strategy for tourism development as a main gear for nation's economic growth. see source
