Noema’s research: Foreign tourists in Bulgaria are mainly ‘repeaters’

Working and high-educated 38-year-old man, who has visited Bulgaria for at least the third time, preferred lying on Bulgarian beaches and enjoying extreme water sports-this is the profile of the average foreign tourist who visits Bulgaria for his summer holiday.
The research has been carried out by Noema Agency from the middle of July until the middle of August among 3400 foreign tourists, who spend their summer holiday at Bulgarian Black Sea.
About 400 of them have been interviewed in Bulgarian resorts and 3000 have given their answers at airports before their departure from Bulgaria. The average age of foreign tourist who like coming for sea holiday is 38 years. Survey data showed that 66% of visitors work, 21 % is students and hardly 6, 8% are pensioners.
Almost 2/3 of holidaymakers have visited Bulgaria several times-59% of being interviewed answered that it wasn’t their first visit in Bulgaria.
The traditional summer holidaymaker makes on average 3,4 visits in Bulgaria.
78% of them have chosen beaches as main place for spending their holiday.
Despite all, 49% were interested in extreme water sports and every fourth tourist has visited Bulgarian SPA centers; 19% prefer cultural tourism and 18%-ecotourism. 16% are visits related to both business and religious tourism.
62% of foreign tourists, who have spent their summer holiday in Bulgaria, are thinking over their holidays between two and six months.
