Radisson unveils conference centre

Sofia Echo Com, 20.02.2004

THE Radisson SAS Grand Hotel in Sofia launched this week its renovated conference centre. The project is a part of the corporate policy of Rezidor SAS to improve services and capacity of conference centres in the chain's hotels worldwide. The renovation also includes two new concepts - Golden Minutes and 100 Per Cent Satisfaction with the Event. With the Golden Minutes project, the hotel staff provides full support and great flexibility in making changes in the final minutes before the starting of the event. Under the 100 Per Cent Satisfaction, the hotel management and staff guarantee that they will fulfill all requirements of their clients. Otherwise the money will be returned. Radisson SAS Grand Hotel invested a total of 25 000 euro in new equipment, part of it provided by Kongresstechnik Bulgaria. "I believe that the future of Sofia as a congress and conference centre is certain," said John Grieg, general manager of the hotel. The new equipment includes wireless high-speed internet on the entire territory of the hotel and broadband cable internet. In all six conference rooms sockets for digital telephones have been installed, making it possible to install fax machines and modems, which can be rented from the hotel. Also, in all six conference rooms, ISDN connections for videoconferences and high-quality transfer of voice and data have been installed. With the co-operation of Kongresstechnik Bulgaria, the hotel will provide microphones, a simultaneous translation system, video-conference equipment, voting systems and all kinds of other equipment necessary for conferences and other events. Ralitsa Bratanova, meetings and events manager, said the conference centre of the Radisson SAS Grand Hotel was currently undergoing the process of obtaining a certificate from the Meeting Professionals International (MPI). "This will be the first conference centre in Sofia which will have such certificate," Bratanova said. see source
