Referendum on New Construction at the Seaside
Standart Daily, 24.07.2005
Mayor of the Bulgarian largest Black Sea city Varna insists on holding a referendum on the new constructions at the Bulgarian seaside. Court declares null and void all my restrictive orders, the mayor complained. A referendum is the only solution, because every citizen will be able to say if he or she agrees with the overbuilding of the Maritime Park in Varna, for example. A rally was staged against tree cutting and spreading construction in the region. The mayor said he would insist that the municipality should give building permits instead of district architects. see source
