Ecotourism in Shablensko and Durankulashko Lake

Municipality Shabla represented the project “Interregional collaboration for modern maintenance of preserved areas and development of stable tourism”. The main points of the project are referred to Shablensko and Durankulashko Lake which are preserved areas. The project includes a number of measures such as making master-plans for preserved areas, technical projects for the construction of ecotourism infrastructure, working visits and seminars.
It is foreseen an area in Sweden, where Lake Hornborga is situated, to be a partner with Shabla Municipality in the fulfillment of this project. Swedish Lake is inhabited by various and rare birds species. Information centres, eco paths, towers for bird observation are built in the lake complex.
Municipality Shabla will be able to build useful relationships through the project, to cooperate with regions with similar natural resources, exchange information for the best principles in managing preserved areas and the development of ecotourism.
