Six Bulgarian towns nominated for European Capital of Culture

Which is the next European capital of culture 2019? Even though it may seem that there is plenty of time until 2019, candidates still crave for their prestigious award.
Bulgarian towns nominated for the European Capital of Culture in 2019 are Sofia, the capital city, the beautiful coastal city Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo and the splendid Rousse. The official participation of Rousse will be discussed at the session of the town counselors.
Bulgarian and Italian invitation for the prestigious title will be published on 31th December 2012. 37 towns have declared their participation in the prestigious contest for European capital of culture. The initiative stimulates long-term urban development in the field of culture, tourism, infrastructure, social and economic development.
