Prices of ski lift passes remain unchanged this year in all ski resorts

Anita Valentinova, 07.12.2010

It’s the third year in a row when concessioners of ski tracks in Bulgaria’s winter resorts will not change the prices for ski lift passes. This year the pass for all facilities in Borovets ski resort will cost 55 BGN /approx. 27 EUR/ and the one which is valid during the weekends will cost 35 BGN /17 EUR/, according to the official website of Borosport, the concessioner of the ski tracks. Half-day ski lift pass costs 30 BGN /15 EUR/ on weekdays and 10 EUR during the weekend.

Pamporovo ski resort, the sunniest of all winter venues in Bulgaria, also surprises all guests with relatively low prices. The ski lift pass costs 25 EUR and the half-day one- 19 EUR. The concessioner of ski tracks in Bansko ‘Ulen’ has not published the updated pricelist for the upcoming winter season. However, local hoteliers expressed their belief that Ulen will keep the prices at last year’s levels. In other words, skiers will pay not more than 25 EUR for their ski pass. Other ski resorts also announced their offerings for the season. If you intend to visit the picturesque Chepelare, you should just pay 19 EUR per day in order to enjoy yourself at the ski slopes. As far as ski tuition and ski equipment are concerned, prices also remain unchanged. If you wish to improve your skills and pay for an individual lesson, you will be charged about 25 EUR. Should you wish to rent your ski equipment, you will pay approximately 15 EUR. The same amount is payable if you need to rent your snowboard equipment. Of course, this year some discount will be available if you purchase a ski lift pass and rent ski equipment. The discount varies from 15% to 20% in all resorts.

Concessioners of ski tracks have invested funds in new facilities for the new ski season. Bansko ski resort boasts a new 4-seat ski lift which will service all traces in the Plateau. Also, Ulen has bought 38 artificial snow making facilities. As we have already announced, there is a link between Sytnyakovo and the water reservoir which feeds the artificial snow making facilities in Borovets. Besides this the resort is supplied with a system which ensures the snow retention in the high zone Markudjik where the wind used to blow away the snow from some parts of the zone.

The connection between the ski track Stenata and the area between Snezhanka and Students, has been completely finished. Thus, skiers will be able to enjoy in full night skiing in Pamporovo. Also, all uneven tracks were fixed and as soon as we see substantial snowshowers, the only one in Bulgaria half pipe facility for snowboard will be put into operation. Police patrols will take care of Pamporovo’s guests throughout the day. Since some quarrels are also possible at the slopes, this year policemen who are capable of skiing will look after the quiet and peaceful situation at the slopes.
