Southern Park

The Southern Park is the second largest park in Sofia city after the Borissova Garden. It lies to the south of Bulgaria blvd. It extends from Ivan Vazov Quarter to the Hladilnika Quarter. Numerous kids playgrounds, walking paths with trees, shady pathways, sculptures, memorial of noted persons are included in its territory. The Park is vast, well maintained, peaceful and not so noisy as other Sofia parks and most importantly it provides spectacular views towards Vitosha. Enjoy your afternoon coffee in the Southern Park and admire at the unique nature.

Oborishte park (Zaimov's garden)

Zaimov is a park in a prime Sofia location. The Oborishte Park borders Yanko Sakuzov Boulevard. The park is the first free public Wi-Fi zone in Sofia city. Being compared to the Southern Park, Zaimov garden does not dispose of shady pathways and small forests. However, there you will find beautiful flowerbeds, refreshing fountains and many happy people. Hence, it is a wonderful place to visit and have some resort, and don’t forget to take your camera.

Doctors' Garden

The Doctors’ Garden is located close to major state institutions and historic memorials of Sofia city. Doctors’ garden is part of the old center of Sofia /also called Old Sofia/. The Doctors’ Garden is one of Sofia’s best parks, with a neat and compact array of children’s playgrounds, flowerbeds and bushes. Doctors’ Garden is just behind the National Library, and it is considered one of the smartest residential areas in town, so the beautiful, secluded and well-maintained park is a pleasant place to spend an hour or so. At the center of the Doctors’ Garden there is a big, pyramidal cairn-like monument and it was built in honour of the medics who lost their lives in the Russo-Turkish War (1877-78). In the Doctors’ Garden, one will also find lapidarium, featuring interesting Roman architectural fragments, dug up around Sofia city. This randomly arranged collection will make you feel as if you have come across a long-lost civilization. A a group of volunteers known as ‘Friends of Doctors’ Garden’ is actively engaged in keeping the neat condition of the park.
Great part of the embassies and residences of the foreign diplomatic missions in Bulgaria are situated in the region of Doctors’ Garden. The buildings in the area are aristocratic style, but there is great variety of newly-built luxury office and residential buildings.
The four-star hotel “Crystal Palace” is situated, among the “Doctor’s Garden” and the imposing buildings of the Sofia University. It is a hotel perfect for business and pleasure.

Park of the Soviet Army

Use the subway from Sofia university and go to the park across the street. There you will find a small park directly across the street that is frequently used for festivals. It is the Soviet Army park and it will recognize it easily by the virtue of the 8-meter tall memorial, depicting figuratively the army.

Garden around the National Theatre /City Garden/

Are you tired of walking the city streets and visiting famous landmarks in Sofia’s center? The City Garden is located between Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard to the north, Knyaz Alexander Batenberg to the west and Gourko Street to the south. Take a break and rest up in the leafy Sofia City Garden, with its charming cafés, flowerbeds rich in colour and fabulous fountain, around which old men usually gather to play chess in a sunny weather. The mausoleum of Bulgaria's first communist ruler, Georgi Dimitrov, used to be situated at the northern end of the park facing the Royal Palace.
