Saint George is honoured both by Christians and Muslims. According to the passional of St.George, he was born in Cappadocia /Turkey, Asia/. He was well educated and therefore he was given high title as a skilful military commander. George lived in Palestine and later on he became a Roman soldier. He was a son of rich parents, Christians, and hence he has become a follower of the Orthodox religion. Moreover, George protested against Rome’s persecution of Christians. Because of being a supporter of the religion, he was imprisoned, put to severe torture. While the saint was imprisoned, many people visited in order to obtain his eternal faith. Ill people have visited the saint and because of his miraculous power, they were cured. Jesus Christ appeared and consoled him.
