5-star congress centre and new mall, financed by Israeli funds, will be constructed in Veliko Tarnovo, announced Prof. Krasimir Metodiev, honoured Israel’s consul in Bulgaria. He also added that the attention of many Israeli companies, businessmen, science and public figures was focused on the area of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality.

Several projects are already in a process of making, some of the most important are the constuction of new mall and a trade centre along the way Varna – Sofia and modern 5-star congress centre with a hotel on “Sveta Gora” Hill. He pointed out that the investors from Israel want to invest in tourism, as more than 100 000 citizens from Israel visit Bulgaria annually. Special attention should be paid to tourism, because more than 100 000 Israeli residents visit Bulgaria annually, but, unfortunately, the most part of them prefer spending their holiday at the beach instead of visiting the Central part of Bulgaria. Hat is why they want to direct the tourism flow towards Veliko Tarnovo. Prof. Metodiev said that it is needed to direct huge tourist flow to Veliko Tarnovo. The investors discussed the opportunity to use Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport for charter flights from Israel to Veliko Tarnovo City. This means that the construction of new infrastructure in the area, which can give an opportunity to modern tourism, should begin soon.
