Svishtov reported successful tourist year and a growth of the number of visi

It has been successful year for the development and popularity of Svishtov as tourist destination, declared the Chairman of the Tourism Council in Svishtov, Mr. Prodanov. He also added that 12 000 tourists visited Svishtov last year, but over 20 000 visits has been reported this year.
The most important event was the Festival Antique Rome “Danube Eagle” which is very likely to become traditional.
Mr. Prodanov was requested to comment all perspectives for the development of yacht tourism in Svishtov. He explained that a big problem is infrastructure, a harbour where boats can be held. It is a necessity and so, respectively, a solution can be found. In his opinion, two directions are possible, because two segments are available.
On the one hand, one harbour can be constructed for tourist, sport, yacht and motor boats, and on the other one can be made fishermen needs.
It is believed that several different approaches can be used for the fulfillment of the idea. Svishtov can apply for and participate in European programs for fishery and aqua culture.
In conclusion, Mr. Prodanov expressed his optimism that the town of Svishtov will have yacht and fisherman’s harbor in two years.
