Tourism season in Plovdiv opens with festive procession

Plovdiv municipality and Tourism Council Plovdiv will officially open the tourism season in the city. Guests and visitors will delight in a festive procession to the Old town and Antique Theatre.
The festive event will be held on 12th of May /Thursday/ at 10am at the Central square.
The festival will start with ritual Thracian dances performed by the folklore ensemble “Thracia” and all events will be held front of the Tourism information center in Plovdiv. All participants will be able to enjoy new exposition in Cultural center “Trakart” - “The Antique window”. Festive program also include performances of theater “Hend” and “The academy folklore choir. The parade will be accompanied by a guide and participants who will be dressed in ropes from different epochs in order to present the landmarks in Plovdiv and all culture events which are scheduled to be held this year.
Plovdiv municipality announced that the competition for the new motto of the tourist year will be also announced as top 5 proposals will be awarded with free tickets for two cultural events of one’s choice. The most appropriate motto will be used in the ad of Plovdiv ad and it will be placed at central places in the city. Feel welcome to visit the official opening of tourism season in Plovdiv city.
