The project ‘Unknown Sofia city’ will be fulfilled within 3 months. Internet websites and a map will be created to promote the most beautiful landmarks in Bulgaria’s capital city. Even Sofia residents are not familiar with small historic and cultural places that are located in their neighbourhoods and parks. This is why the project ‘Unknown Sofia’ is needed. It will involve the opportunities for the promotion of unknown, but interesting historic, architectural, cultural and art places that are situated in Sofia. The project is financed by Sofia municipality and the total budget amounts to 7 000 EUR.

Also, the project aims to help Sofia become elected for European capital of culture for 2019. It seems that known, traditional and historic landmarks in Sofia city are not so many. The main attraction is the cathedral Alexander Nevski, followed by National theatre Ivan Vazov, Russian church and other landmarks. The new website will include a description and information about the respective places and landmarks. A detailed map will help all residents and visitors in Sofia city find their routes that lead to beautiful, but unknown landmarks. The initiative will include places that are of historic importance. Even Sofia residents are not familiar with such landmarks, however, they are the ones that make the capital city of Bulgaria a truly unique place. The project is planned to last about 3 months.
