Deffinately not a 5 * hotel. Maybe 3*!!! Do not book the hotel as you might get our experience. This winter we had to sure one room with our children( 16 and 17 years old) . We of course have booked 2 double rooms but " we were lucky" to get one( the rep said). Food is awful, swimming pool cold and nor free. Careful with the bills in the Irish bar.

Anyway... just do not go there.

i would advise this hotel to anyone there is so much things to do in it go bowling ,gym , spa ,etc etc .... the staff are very friendly and the quality of the rooms are fantastic .......but he food could of been a bit better . it is also great that the buses come write outside the hotel to bring you on the slopes i really enjoyed this hotel & would home to go back there again

this hotel is fantastic im going back in march 31st 2007 and im going to pamporvo hotel its the best in bulgaria its soo good. theres loads to do in the evenings so u wont get bored love this resort ellie 12 soton xxxx

Its amazing what people expect for Ł200 a week half Board including Flights and Transfer.
This is the second time stayed at the Hotel.Admittedly hotel has lost a bit of edge(more like 4 star)
However as a package it was once again excellent.Rooms are good,clean,well presented,food was fair,and certainly more than edible.The comments made by MFREST UK about it BEING like a Brothel ARE ABSURD.
tHIS IS A GREAT FAMILY HOTEL,WHERE YOU WILL MEET GREAT FAMILIES.Some people appear to complain for a living.Can only assume life not blessed them well.

We have just returned from the Pamporovo Hotel in Pamps. Do not go there - they overbook the hotel is like a brothel and the management hide in their room when there are around 10 people every night waiting to see him. He refuses to sort out the dire crises, the are masive queing every night - to eat ! I stayed in the 3 star - Panorama Hotel 2 years ago which was far superior.

31DEC06. Where do I start.....I went to Bulgaria with my boyfriend, parents and little sister, we just got back last week. My boyfriend and I are well travelled but we normally travel independently this time we went with a package holiday, booked with Bulkan holidays.

From the start we have had problems; our flight was under booked so we flew via Cardiff to pick up some extra passengers. We had a delay in Birmingham Airport through customs so people were starving on the plane even looking forward to the plane food. I have never seen such bad food or heard so many people complain, dried out chicken and some sweet corn. Little did we know this was just ths start of things to come.

After an excessively bumping landing we arrived and were transported like cattle to the hotel. On the bus we were told by people that the hotel had building works something we were not advised before hand. To be honest this did not impact me personally as we were out on the slopes most of the day, however the night clubs do not exists that is what they are building and I could not find a gym. So do not believe what you see in the brochure. You have to pay extra to use the pool, sauna etc, in fact anything u want to use you pay extra for.

The food! We arrived latish and went straight down to the buffet. We were greated with mean staff, no drinks (they are extra even tap water), and cold nasty food. I can not tell you how gutted we were at this point. I have recently been to Montenegro and the food there was excellent, they have the ingrdients they just dont know how to use them.

The food actually got better as time went on, the best part by far is the salad bar (which lucky for me I love), the hot food was consistencly bad but the cakes are pretty tasty. Coffee and water were provided on the first few nights but when they realised people wanted them they started charging. We spent Christmas day in Bulgaria, where we were provided with a speical meal, which we now find out cost us an extra Ł30 supplement on our bill. Needless to say it was pretty nasty. We were bunndled in the dinning room with so many people you could not move your arms to eat, the staff were rude, the food was cold and I persoanlly could not eat it. See the picture for the main meal. I maybe a bit of a food snob but I am 100% sure that the Turkey dish served up two days later weas the remains reused that most people left. This was an experience.

If you do stay at this hotel take earplugs, they play music in the dinning room and its so loud and pretty bad, so sit near the buffet end of the dinning room and get there early before all the good stuff goes. Anyway enough said on the food.

The rooms are OK, pretty big but all have twin beds no doubles, if you have a triple room be prepared for someone to sleep on a broken camp bed. Our bathroom was nice but anything that breaks has not been fixed over time, so shower curtains missing and our bed was broken. If you need a snack the food in the hotel shop is atleast half price, the shop in the town is even cheaper.

The hotel was lined with blacked out expensive cars, hummers, BMW etc. After a time it became apart that like someother hotels this was run buy the mafia (no jokes), there are men in black suits and ear peices everywhere, the secuirty is so OTT, but its not to protect you its to protect them and the prostitues that work in the hotel. Keep an eye out as there are lots of them. I did feel safe in the hotel but my step dad complained alot and he had lots of threatening clance from the mafia clan. If you do complain go through your rep as the hotel staff could not careless. When I asked to see a breakdown of out bill on the last day I was shouted at, I felt so disrespected by the staff the whole trip. They dont understand the words Customer Service, they are just looking the whole time to see what they can get you to spend.

In regards to the skiing, I have skiied before so booked an intermediate lesson. These dont exist so dont pay for them , they resort is 100% focused on beginners and they group people in sets of about 20 and go through the basics. If you are not a beginner dont go here. I loved the skiing, even though it was icy and the slopes were not maintained (stones eveywhere), the lifts breakdown all the time and I ditched my lesson halfway through as there is not instruction just a guide to follow. If there are any probs with lessons no one cares or helps you, Bulkan holidays never helped with any questions or problems and just blamed things on the snow conditions. The slopes are tiny and as more people come each year there is not enough to cope with the people that want to ski. I know people that have been to other ski resort in Bulgaria and they say this is the worst. In my opinion it was OK but I would not go back, as from skiing in France and Italy I know how things should be done.

To make the best use of the hotel you have to be on a scheudle. Get up early as the food is better and you will def get one of the ski buses, the rest of the time you run the risk of it being too crowded and it not stopping, then you have to get a taxi. Cold water runs out by about 5, so get straight in the bath when you get back.

Avoid this hotel and anything through Bulkan holidays.

Stayed at the Hotel Pamporovo as part as a ski package holiday and was very pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for value for money then look no further than this hotel. It is the best hotel in the resort and does offer amenities such as indoor swimming pool, health spa, bowling alley and shops.
We went as a group of seven on a half board basis and all of us thought that the accomodation was excellent, particularly the heated bathroom floor. Have read other reviews on this hotel prior to departure and was quite concerned about the possibility of not enough hot water, overbooking etc, but our fears were misplaced. We all had hot water throughout our stay and were all adequately accomodated.
The food was buffet style in the restaurant that serviced the half board guests, and was fairly basic and very salty. However this is a general thing in Bulgaria, and having eaten at other hotels during our stay, we certainly picked the best one. The "fine dining" restaurant provided the best food, and amazing value for money; 3 courses with wine came to Ł12 a head!
The stafff, as with everyone else we encountered in Bulgaria were extremely friendly, making you feel welcome wherever you went.
Pamparovo is an excellent place to learn to ski, and I would advise people to stay at this hotel. We all had a brilliant holiday!

The hotel itself is meant to be the best in Pamporovo, and is rated 4/5 star but don't expect any more than 3 star. It is very grand looking when your enter the building but accoumodation is standard. Nice pool. Poor variety of food available.
Skiing is good for beginners. Short taxi ride away from slopes. Would return to this hote if coming againl, as seemed to be best in area.

I STAYED AT HOTEL PAMPOROVO BEST HOTEL 5STARS EXTREMLY CLEAN, VERY NICE STAFF FOOD WAS GOOD. THE SKI RESORT HAD ALOT TO DO LIKE SKI JUMPING, SKI-DOO AND MORE GREAT NIGHT LIFE GREAT RESORT FOR CHILDREN TOO. GREAT RESTAURANT CHEVERMENTO THAT SERVE'S BULGARIAN FOOD LIVE MUSIC A BOTTLE OF GRAET BULGARIAN RED WINE FOR A VERY LOW PRICE OF 14LEVA WICH IS ABOUT $5-$7 A BIG DINNARE FOR 3 COAST ABOUT 40LEAVA WHICH IS $20 AND THAT IS THE MOST EXPANSIVE YOU WILL FIND. AND IN A 10MIN DRIVE YOU CAN GO TO BACHKOVO MONASTERY A CHRISTIAN MONASTERY WHICH WAS FOUND IN 983 A MUST SEE SITE.PAMPOROVO IS THE GREATEST SKI RESORT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO AND I HAVE BEEN TO SKI RESORT'S ALL OVER THE WORLD. I AM GOING AGIAN ON DECEMBER 1, 2003 THISE TIME I AM STAYING THER FOR THE RSET OF MY LIFE A HAVE BOUGHT MY OWN VILLA OVER 1,000Sq meters for $60,000 Bulgaria is a graet place. I recomend Bulgaria and PAMPOROVO to any one.

The Pamporovo hotel is a modern, clean and well turned out place the food is average and as there is a good choice you should always find some thing you like.The indoor swimming pool is small and they charge to use it about £2 which is a shame.They also have a good ten pin bowling alley 3 lanes and that is about£4- £5 a go.Beer in the Hotel varies in price depeding on which bar you buy it in. sports bar 3.5 levs a bottle, irish bar 2.5 levs for a large glass. 1lev is about 40p.

The white house restaurant a short walk is a good traditional Bulgarian restaurant well worth a visit and the white hart pub in the centre of the resort serves good English food and cheap beer about 80p a pint.

The sking is excellent stunning scenery realy good instructors especialy dido but do make sure you prebook lift passes and lessons etc before you go we went with crystal on a last minute deal and about 20 people who tried to prebook were told they could not and instead of paying £85-£95 the had to pay £185 which is a rip off you walk to the lift station to buy your lift pass and that was £100 on it,s own.Crystal is certainly charging loads more than it says in its brochure.

still all in all a cracking holiday my son and i will definatly be going back again but not with Crystal and absoloutly prebooking lift passes etc.
