11th Regional Tourism Market “The Sun’s path”

Over 120 participants took part in the 11th Regional Tourism Market “The Sun’s path”.

Tryavna town and its newly opened 4-star hotel “Kalina Palace” hosted the event. Tour operators, tourist agencies, hotel owners, representatives of municipalities, regional and branch organizations took part in “The Sun’s path”. Tourist attractions in the region and a project of National Tourist Agency for the division of Bulgaria into tourist districts were presented within three days. Participants discussed also problems, related to corporative and social responsibility of tourism branch.

One weekend is not enough for the tourist in order to go sightseeing and get familiar at least with the town itself. Provided that surroundings are included, perhaps one-week holiday is necessary to visit all interesting places. Not only do Tryavna residents develop tourism and make the town and the area attractive for tourists, but also they do their best to preserve and breathe new life into their culture and art.

The History and the Present live together in pure harmony

Kalinchevata and Daskalovata houses, the workshop for “tsarvuli” (traditional Bulgarian shoes, handmade, calf leather, comfortable for Bulgarian folklore dancing ), Museum of African Art, Old School, numerous workshops for wood-carving and icon-painting, even the new Belgium brewery for ‘live beer’ LUC’S, where guests can taste light, amber-coloured and dark beer, being produced there. The Manager of the brewery, Mrs.Dimitrova said: “We were having a lunch with our Belgium partners when they were enchanted with the aroma of one of the most often used spices in Bulgarian cuisine, the savory. Suddenly, one of our partners had a brainwave, he decided to added savory spice into the dark beer. At the present, “Trevnenska beer” is produced and sold in Belgium breweries. It can be also tasted in Bulgaria, of course, only in Trayvna. Basically, Tryavna Wood-carving school is the only one remained in Bulgaria and this fact is not just by chance.

Local art masters revive traditions and create new events which help popularizing this kind of art. The first Wood-carving exhibition has been organized this year and it included 66 works of 36 participants. 200-year old oak tree, made by 88 masters, was carved as a sign of appreciation to old wood-carving craftsmen at Dimitrovden this year.

A special place for tourists will be made where every visitor regardless of the level and knowledge can create his own piece of art and carry it to his home as a souvenir of Triavna and Bulgaria.

Two eco complexes have been constructed in a close proximity to Tryavna. Guests are always welcomed with homemade dishes and drinks in “Maria’s throne”. Every visitor can take advantage of the warm covered swimming pool where can relax after the exhausting week. Besides the variety of curative and cosmetic massages in “Maria’s throne”, guests are provided with 24-hours medical service. Gesha view is the other eco complex. Having been built by British investors, it offers villa area and also cozy apartments. Originally, it was planned to be a place for social meetings of foreign property’s owners in the region. A wide variety of attractions such as traditional local cooking courses, fishery courses and etc. will be available in the near future. Although all of the houses look like old and typical for the region, they are provided with the latest modern technologies.

A sign of quality “Stara Planina” gave its sign of quality for the seventh time, as this time 32 objects (hotels, restaurants and museums) from 11 municipalities have been awarded with insignia of honours.
