when you post info about the snow in the future like posted on the 12th Dec -Dont worry there will be plenty of snow. for the Xmas and NY week... that sounds very funny.
I would say now have a minute and admit that you have been posting porkies and a SORRY will be nice :)

John - United Kingdom, 04.01.2011 13:34

probably because there is nothing new to show and report.this trick is well known for making sure you see what they want you to see ONLY.

Hello Everybody,

Myself and my family are coming over to Pamporovo this coming sunday (19th) for 7 days. I am just wondering if the resort will be open by then or will more snow be needed?

Thankyou.

Hi,
I have a 2 Questions concernig the new season. If i look at the livecam at www.pamporovolive.com, I see a big Building Site directly on the slope. What ist build there and will hat hill of earth be removed that you can use the slope again? :-)
Another question: Are there in the season 2010/11 new lifts in the skiing area?
Frank

bulgaria-hotels.com admin - Bulgaria, 25.09.2010 17:39

Hello shoyab ali nuruddin!
Thank you for your question. Well, if you wish to spend a lovely ski holiday in Bulgaria, we strongly recommend you to come in January or February. Should you wish to see snowfalls and lovely snowflakes, we usually have snow in December. Check our webcam and weather forecasts for fresh info:)

shoyab ali nuruddin - Kuwait, 19.09.2010 21:18

sir, which is the best time to see snow fall in bulgaria.

Hi max, i think Pamporovo may be closed by then depending on weather conditons. The best times there are from mid Jan to Mid March. For spring time the premium ski resorts in the swiss alps are your best bet as there are glaziers over there well into summer time.

Max, Germany - Germany, 17.03.2010 13:38

I thinking about to go to pamporovo in the beginning of april 2010. Can somebody tell me if there will be enough snow that all slopes will be open? when does the sking resort close? And I would like to know if there would bei enough people for amusenment in the evening.

Just returned from pamporovo last night had a excellent week skiing, snow was very good & it snowed all day on saturday.
Stayed at the hotel merryan, the food was very good & hot, staff were extremely freindly & helpful it's good to see that small family run Hotels can compete with the larger hotels, i would recomend this hotel & plan on returning this christmas

Rob - United Kingdom, 21.02.2010 16:23

Back from Pamporovo this morning. There has been a LOT of snow in the last few weeks and skiing conditions were perfect. It was pristine when we arrived. The slopes still look that way although the town snow is now a bit dirty where the bulldozers have been clearing it. Ski lift facilities are very good and food prices on the slopes are much more reasonable than Austria/France etc. We stayed that the Snezhanka hotel. Accommodation was very good, better than expected - clean, warm rooms and plently of hot water for showers. The meals were plentiful, but only OK quality at best (to be expected in Bulgaria 3* hotel I guess). Not helped at all by invariably being cold and served on stone cold plates!
Very pleased we came - great value for money and very lucky with the snow. Number and variety of slopes are great for a week, but probably not enough for a return visit to the same resort.

Donal - Ireland, 11.02.2010 12:11

Just back from Pamporovo (snow was really good) and have to say we had a blast. New to skiing and found the whole infrastructure and particularly the instructors really good. We booked our skiing package with Galina and found it to be cheaper than anything else we could find on the net. Big thank you Galina. You were also also great on looking after us when we were over. We had such a good time that we're already planning next years trip.

PIDGE - United Kingdom, 02.02.2010 14:39

just returned from Pamporovo after staying at the Orlevets hotel for a week and would like to set the records straight. The hotel is excellent, the rooms being the biggest i've stayed in for a ski holiday. yes the walls are thin but you only sleep in them, the food was ok, some dodgy days but there are plenty of restaurants that provide alternative (recomend the italian). the slopes are great some get icy but if you can ski you'll be ok the food at the various restaurants on the slopes are good quality and cheap (alex's pub at the bottom is good with juri the waiter always attentive and quick to serve). the only possible irritation is that the large ski school classes are perhaps let loose on the RED slopes before they are ready and often stop in the most ridiculous places on the slopes. be warned this is a learner venue and as indicated on the piste maps there are few really challenging slopes but the red to the right of the 3 man lift goes on forever and it takes forever to get back on the 6man lift but its worth it!! the other slopes are ok and the WALL is just as it says, looks easy but go over the top and it looks completely different when yous going down it. overall very pleased with the Holiday had a great week skiing and would return.

Dear Adam,
Great if you find the Orlovets hotel good but the rooms were noisy, the breakfast food was less than average, bad coffee and chemical orange juice. Only one lift working, swimming pool at 20c. WIFI not working during 4 days. Sorry but for a called 5 stars, this is not really good. I'll give max 3 stars.

Good morning to all!
Much better ski conditions in Pamporovo today. Most of the ski runs are open and people are enjoy skiing on them. The snow cannons are working non stop for the last two day.
The weather forecast is for snow and most important for low temperature.

Adam H-Sutton UK - United Kingdom, 11.01.2010 14:45

its meant to start snowing from the early hours of wednesday mornig with accumulations of upto 7 cm by the end of the week so fingures crossed

pidge - United Kingdom, 08.01.2010 11:44

i agree with Adam H-Suttonski, its not the resorts fault and i'm sure they are doing all they can. Lets all be OPTIMISTIC eh. It will Snow it will be great and it Will...... can't think of anything else.

rob elliott - United Kingdom, 08.01.2010 11:24

Ski'd at pamporovo 26.12.2009 - 02.01.2010. although lost 1 day of skiing due to warm and wet weather, the works that the operators did on the mountains with the snow canons and piste bashers was fantastic. Admittedly there was limited runs and some patches showing through but was able to ski large parts of the runs quite freely.
The red run that runs down alongside the new 6 man chairlift was awesome and can be such a fast run to ski if you want that or if you r still learning then it is very wide so there is a lot of room to traverse from side to side and to improve your skills.
This being the newest run open with all new snow canons was in my opinion the best maintained run.
I am due to return on 16.01.2010-23.01.2010 of which the weather although does not show much snow falling the temperature is good to keep the canons running to top up the mountain of the white stuff before i get there. If i am fortunate to get a fall of snow before i arrive or whilst at pamporovo i am sure the conditions to ski will be exceptional.

Alan f Liverpool uk - Bulgaria, 08.01.2010 00:16

Hi Lloyd yes there is skiing at moment but limited slopes are very slushy and wet does need major snow only about 4 runs open we have been very lucky this week skied every day our ski instructor pelham has been fantastic hope you get a good snow fall for when you come cheers alan

Lloyd - United Kingdom, 07.01.2010 23:25

Although theres not much snow in Pamporovo can anyone tell me if any of the runs are open at the moment. Most snow condition reports still say theres snow at the top of the area.

Adam uk - United Kingdom, 07.01.2010 20:12

i would like to add that although things are not looking great for skiing we should all remember that it is not the resorts fault that there is no snow !! i have been skiing for many years and had the same dilema skiing in Italy and France so please i know we are all gutted but give the guys a break they are trying there best!

Ico - United Kingdom, 07.01.2010 19:05

I'm going to Pamporovo on Saturday, first time skiing and absolutely gutted at the conditions. Looks like there will be no skiing whatsoever. Paid for lift passes and ski hire already...absolute waste of money.

Hi Adam,
we are terribly sorry about the present situation :( all we want good snow and skiing. We understand your frustration right now, but it may be snowing in couple of weeks. Unfortunately, due to the sudden climate changes nowadays, weather can't be easily predicted. All we regret for holidaymakers out at the ski resort now, that's why we keep praying for snow :( Everybody has been hoping for snow. What we can do is to share fresh info, update weather forecast constantly and last but not least issue some useful tips about where to go to spend enjoyable holiday /to mention hereby prices in ski resorts are due to be dropped/. On Sun we will publish forecast for the next week and let's hope that weather will be favourable for skiing

Adam H-Sutton UK - United Kingdom, 07.01.2010 14:46

Galina - bulgaria-hotels.com - Pamporovo - Bulgaria, 06.01.2010 13:19

Rain today in Pamporovo too. Slopes are still skiable due to the artificial snow. 6 men chairlift closed due to the high wind unfortunately as the Stoykite run has the best ski condition at the moment.

Lloyd - United Kingdom, 06.01.2010 11:07

Thanks for the feedback Alan, hope you're enjoying your holiday. Any ideas what the feeling is there for conditions next week?

temperatures in pamporovo are not cold enough for the snow cannons to be working atm but temperatures are forecasted to be freezing from fridaynight through to monday night so they SHOULD be going throughout the week! Scott - UK - United Kingdom, 29.12.2009 13:42

Just returned from Pamps on 26th Dec. Had one day of snow at the start of hols that provided sufficient for hols however by the 26th there was little/no snow remaining on slopes. Although they have snow cannons these do not work if temps are above freezing & it was 9 degrees C when we left.

bulgaria-hotels.com answer - Bulgaria, 28.12.2009 23:33

Hi guys,
Indeed the weather forecast is not so promising. Unfortunately, we have seen rather warm weather so far which is unusual for this period of the year. Frankly, it has been drizzling these days, but no serious snow cover has been created. Actually, Bansko sees the best skiing conditions right now. The weather will not change significantly in the next couple of days. Good news is that perhaps it is going to rain on 31st of December, so generous snowfalls are possible /we will keep you posted on the updated weather forecast in our 'Snow reports' section/. Artificial snow making facilities are in operation. New snow cannons have been installed in Pamporovo.
All we hope that we will see great weather in the beginning of 2010.
Bulgaria's skiing resorts are so lovely, plenty things to do apart from skiing, so we believe that you will not be disappointed.

James, special thanks for your idea :). We have decided to post some articles and tips about what to do and where to go in order to taste the diverse life of each skiing resort in order to ensure unforgettable and exciting holiday. Besides we should not forget that there are excellent SPA opportunities at Bulgaria's premier mountainous hotels.
All, no worries, we will endeavour to guarantee a great party, it is your holiday after all, it must be a great one.

Dear Matt,
Pamporovo will see new dusting of snow on Sun. The drink is pretty cheap. For instance, a beer of from 1.50 BGN to 7 BGN, depending on the place-pub, mehana, expensive restaurant. We recommend you pubs, because a drink is at reasonable, there are happy hours and overall it is a great party:-)

There are quite a few good places to stay in the Pamporovo area. Perelik Palace is definately one of them. This a new resort situated in a village called Stoykite which is 5-10 minuites drive from pamporovo just around the other side of the mountain.I've stopped here and it has high quality accomadation, magnificent views to the highest peaks, spa center, entertainment, great food, winery, nightclub ect. Very close, there is also a brand new 6 person chair lift that goes right up to the top of Snezhanka peak. This serves 2 new beautiful long pistes that run down to the village. As you can tell this place has won me over! check it out at booking.com

I'm off to the Prespa hotel in Pamporovo in early January. Anyone stayed here and have any comments?

Mikey - United Kingdom, 11.12.2009 17:00

I have been advised by my brother who works for the MET office. There will be lots of very cold fronts sweeping accross mainland europe over the next 8 to 12 weeks. He thinks all ski resorts in Bulgaria are going to see significant falls of powder. I'm definately going!. A day on the slopes, then a nice massage by a sexy lady,
ooooo cant wait!.

Lloyd - European Union, 11.12.2009 15:25

Thanks for your response. Forecast for Pamporovo is looking good for this weekend hope it keeps up for the rest of December and January.

Thanks again.

Thanks for your help

Hi all, anyone who is thinking of going to Pamporovo, my advice is to go towards the end of Jan to mid Feb, this is the coldest time in the rhodopes. We went on the 19th Feb 2009 and it was like driving into a different world once we got past Chepalare. There was that much snow my partner got scared! we had to stop and put chains on the car tyres!. Hope you enjoy your stay. Perelik Palace in stoykite is and excellent place to stay if your looking for an upmarket place to stay.

Dear Adam,
Sofia is the best option if you are going to have your holiday in Bansko. Actually, wherever your stay, it is always recommendable to have a trip in Sofia city due to its favourable location. If you have never been in Sofia, then you should really think about it. There's something really magical about Christmas in Sofia. The bustling streets are buzzing and at night the city is glowing with lights. Sofia is a city of diversity, so what will suit best for a family holiday is a city tour /major landmarks-Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in the heart of the city, Russian Church, National History Museum, Archaeological Museum, the building of the formal Royal Palace etc./ +shopping-there are plenty of shops and world known boutiques +entertainment-you can have a short trip to Vitosha Mountain or spend a couple of hours, strolling along some of the biggest malls in Sofia+ have wonderful dining at an exquisite place. Speaking in general, Sofia is a city of diversity and many different cultures are interwoven in a unique way and you will definitely feel it as well. Sofia is a great option to taste it all. We also offer organized Sofia tours. More information about Sofia's attractions, you will find at sofiahotels.bg.
Next, if you'd love to visit a nice, yet charming place, then you may consider Smolyan, a town, nestled in Rhodopes, there are crafts shops, observatory, narrow cobbled streets. In close proximity you may visit the Rozhen Monastery.
Last but not least, should you be interested in religious tourism, Sofia tours in a combination with monastery tour is a brilliant idea. Let us know what you may find attractive and will advise you and tailor your holiday to meet your expectations.

looking forward to my ski holiday in Pamporovo in Jan, been on youtube and noticed several show snow patches are we garanteed show in Jan?

bulgaria-hotels.com answer - Bulgaria, 30.11.2009 14:12

Hello,
Thank you for your comment. It is too early to draw conclusions for December. Currently there is snow up in the mountains. However, it is predicted that there will be snowfalls in Bulgaria in Dec. Usually there are snow showers in mid Dec. Besides Borovets is equipped with modern artificial snow facilities, so snow is guaranteed. Please, check snow conditions and weather /there are updated real time/. Due to the increased interest, we will post some forecasts as well. We will keep you posted.
