Bulgaria among CNN's Top Global Tourist Destinations 2011

We are proud to inform you that Bulgaria has been listed among the top nine world tourist destinations for 2011 in a CNN article. The article outlines the best holiday opportunities in Bulgaria and focuses on the seaside with pristine beaches, as well as the ski adventures in the mountainous resorts in winter.
New York occupies the first place in the prestigious ranking, followed by New Zealand, Peru and Brazil. Japan and Guatemala follow Bulgaria in the ranking.
The prestigious ranking which put the accent upon the holiday destinations for 2011 is created on the basis of recommendations from three world-renowned travel experts, Robert Reid, US travel editor for Lonely Planet; Pauline Frommer, creator of Pauline Frommer's guidebooks; and Martin Rapp, senior vice president of leisure sales at Altour. The detailed CNN article places Bulgaria ninth on the list that also features New Zealand, Barcelona, Norway, Albania, Japan, and Guatemala. "I love doing my trips in Bulgaria. It's a beautiful country and there's not much traffic. I feel safe whilst holidaying in the country," said Reid. Reid strongly recommends visiting Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s ancient capital, as well as the picturesque city of Plovdiv where one can explore the Roman ruins.
