Teteven develops tourist routes for eco and alternative tourism

The municipality of Teteven will develop eco and bicycle tourist routes under a project of the Operational program ‘Regional Development’.
The project foresees that a new bicycle route with three sites will be constructed. The other route which will carry the attractive name ‘Following the steps of Chieftain’ and the starting point will be the monument of Georgi Benkovski, Bulgarian revolutionary and leading figure in the organization and direction of the Bulgarian Anti-Ottoman April Uprising , in the picturesque Teteven.
‘The route of health’ will attract tourists of all ages. The route will start with an informative sign for tourists which will be positioned opposite the entrance of the health complex ‘Zdravets’ in Teteven. The route will finish at the park for adventure tourism ‘Adrenaline’. Two eco paths will be created under the name ‘The nature- home for our children’. Funds will be also allocated for the construction of two tourist information centres. They will be built in Teteven and in the area Boaza near Sofia-Varna. The project ‘Improvement of the tourist infrastructure in Teteven municipality’ is estimated at the total of 900 000 EUR.
