Bronze fibulas and coins discovered in the Roman fortress Dimum

Bronze fibulas, marble scales and bronze coins from the 3rd-4th century were discovered during this year’s archaeological excavations of the ancient fortress Dimum near Belene. Excavations of the central part of the antique fortress have made during the archaeological season 2009. The future explorations will give a light what the dimensions of the fortress were, the precise borders and its inner disposition. In the past the fortress Dimum was customs, trade and road station, situated on the territory of the today’s town of Belene.
