Bulgaria took part in the biggest tourism fair in Northern Europe

Bulgaria took part in MATKA tourism fair/'Journey'/ which was held from 21st until 24th of January 2010 in Helsinki, Finland. Bulgaria presented its tourism opportunities and major tourist destinations. Bulgaria participated in the biggest tourism fair in Northern Europe for 11th consecutive year.
The fair was carried out under the slogan 'Travel as a Preserver of Culture'.
Bulgaria’s summer resorts Balchik and Albena were among Bulgaria’s representatives. Last year besides tourist companies, municipalities of Sozopol and Nessebar also took part in the exhibition. Bulgaria has been ranked the third European destination in terms of the number of charter flights. The number of Finnish tourists who came in Bulgaria from January to November 2009 were 48 889.
Bulgaria has presented its tourism opportunities for all year round tourism at the 39th International Tourism Exhibition Vakantiebeurs, considered to be one of the biggest tourism events in the world. It took place from 12th until 17th of January 2010 in the Dutch city Utrecht. Bulgaria’s booth has gained the interest of visitors as summer packages, cultural tours, mountainous tourism, skiing and Fly&Drive were the most attractive tourist products.
