Bulgarian seaside resorts to offer rural tourism opportunities

Municipalities on the south Bulgarian seaside ( Nessebar, Pomorie, Primorsko, Sozopol and Tsarevo) plan to strive against the global financial crisis with alternative forms of tourism.
Mayors of the municipalities decided to join hands in order to find a resolution for the upcoming issues related to summer season 2009.
Thus, each municipality will propose alternatives for rural, eco, cultural tourism and even congress tourism. In fact, rural tourism has the greatest potential which gains more popularity amongst Bulgarian and foreign tourists alike.
Tsavero, Primorsko and Sozopol, which combine the seaside with the hills of the beautiful Strandja Mountain, have a great potential for development in this direction.
However, investments are needed to be made in the infrastructure in order to turn the inhabited places in Strandja Mountain into more attractive and more modern spots for the development of tourism.
