Russians Invade Bulgarian Beaches

The visits of Russian tourists in Bulgaria for this-year summer period is expected to rise by 30-50% in comparison to 2004, recent statistics show. This was announced by Biser Yalamov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Tourism Agency at the opening of the Moscow Tourism Fair. The number of Russian tourists having holiday in Bulgaria is to reach 190,000 in 2005, according to the tour operators promoting the country on the Russian market. In the 2004 about 120,000 Russians chose the Bulgarian cost to send their summer holiday at. In general, they prefer to stay in high-rank hotels, Yalamov said. A drastic jump in the interest in the four- and five-stars hotels is expected for the season. The Russians fancy most resorts like Albena, Golden Sands, Sunny Day, Sunny Beach and Riviera, statistics show. see source
