The First Cave Museum of Bulgarian Wine is opened today in Pleven

The first cave museum of Bulgarian wine is opened today in the city of Pleven. The exposition is situated on the area of 720 m2 in a beautiful cave next to the dam “Totlebenov Val” in the famous park “Kailaka”. This reported the businessman Plamen Petkov, whose are the idea and the fulfillment of the project. The oldest wine in the museum is made more than 90 years ago. The unique exposition is created in collaboration with experts from the Local Historical Museum and from the well-known Panorama “Pleven epic-1977”. A special hall for tasting is differentiated in the Cave Museum; there is also welcome hall and another three halls. In the first hall the visitors will be able to get familiar with the history of wine-production, barrels with wines from all over the country are arranged in the second hall and around 12 000 bottles are stored in the last one. 7000 contain wine with the age from 20 to 90 years. The guests will be welcomed by expert at wines and three guides. The collection will be opened from 11:30 until 6:30 p.m. every day both for city’s residents and tourists, visiting Pleven. The city of Pleven is famous for its 100 years wine-cellar, the oldest on the Balkans, created by French expert, with the only one in Bulgaria Institute for winery and vine-growing, as well as the High School for winery and vine-growing.
