The village of Sitovo, Goleshevo village (Sandanski area) and the chapel “St.Petka” near Trun were the winners in the competition “My native region is the best one”. Spectators had to present a beautiful, but not so popular tourism spot in Bulgaria. The contest was organized last year by the TV show “Patevoditel BG” (Guide BG) on BNT SAT along with State Agency for Tourism and the Camber of the builders in Bulgaria. Special commission chose the three objects-winners which will be contemporarily marked and gradually developed for tourism. The final winners in the competition were represented by short video movies. The chairman of State Agency for Tourism assured that SAT will support the three winners through the broadcasting of advertisements clips and printing of brochures.

Sitovo village is situated 32 km away from Plovdiv in the very heart of the Rhodope Mountains. The mayor said that the village needs an access to the famous inscription above the Sitovo Rocks. This inscription dated back to more than 7000 years and it remained still not deciphered. The infrastructure and the lodgings in the tree regions will be developed and all churches and temples will be restored. The organizers of the competition said that they will help with the constructing and popularizing of the chosen regions, to make them a successful tourist destinations. The access from the road to the chapel “St.Petka” near Trun needs to be provided as well. There many interesting place to visit in Trun area, one of which is the Monastery “St.Archagel Michael” (11th century). There are 10 guest houses in Trun and a hotel in the very centre which is in a process of renovation. Two more hotels are planned to be built
