The popular travel website www.travelweekly.co.uk announced that ski-friendly air carriers are Austrian airlines, Germanwings and Swiss airlines, because they do not impose an extra fee for ski equipment. According to a survey, conducted by Cheapflights.co.uk, three air carriers will not charge skiers for their equipment. On the other hand, low-cost air carriers charge skiers with a fee in the range of 18-30 GBP. Surprisingly, Ryanair is the most expensive company of all low-cost carriers since they charge 40 GBP for online check-in and 50 GBP at the airport. The same applies to all fees for excess luggage. The cheapest companies are Easyjet and Bmibaby- 17,99 GBP for online check-in and 18.50 GBP at the airport. The fee includes snow boots, ski and ski equipment.
British Airways, Air Canada and Air France include the cost of ski transportation within the free baggage allowance.
