Bulgarian Government Invests 1.4 M in souvenirs to boost tourism

Anita Valentinova, www.klassa.bg, 31.12.2010

MIET has officially announced that a wide variety of promo souvenirs will be launched in order to boost the interest of foreign tourists in the country and consider it as a great holiday destination. The project is carried out under the program ‘Regional Development’ to achieve effective marketing results and improve the information services. The project is estimated at 1.4 M BGN. The order includes the preparation of attractive calendars, t-shirts, bags, towels and badges. All promo souvenirs are classified in 31 categories and some of the attractive items are bands for badges, luxurious rose oil in a beautiful bottle, high class gifts and icons. All items must reflect the logo of the program and EU funds that finance the project. Additionally, the present tourism logo which represents Bulgaria as the country of the roses will be also displayed on each promotional souvenir.

The products must reflect Bulgaria's national identity properly and make the country easily recognizable. Bulgarian Ministry of Economy Energy and Tourism plans to launch other initiatives as well in order to lure more foreign visitors.
