Tourist Flow to Bulgaria

The number of tourists who have visited Bulgaria in 2004 has increased by 14.38% in comparison with the number of tourists in 2003, the Economy Ministry informed.
The data shows that there has been a 23.90% growth in the number of tourists from the EU countries (new member states not included) to Bulgaria.
Meanwhile over one million stays in hotels have been registered on the territory of Sofia in 2004, according to data from the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.
In comparison, the hotel stays in 2003 have been 970,000 and in 2002 - 640,000.
In 2004 the number of hotels in Sofia has been 86, while in 2002 their number was 62.
