Video Clip to Advertise Bulgaria's Tourism Industry

The Culture Ministry is negotiating with CNN the airing of an advertising clip about Bulgaria, Deputy Culture Minister Dimitar Hadjinikolov said. Such clips appear on Euronews and Eurosport channels. The national tourism budget for this year is 12 million leva, Hadjinikolov said. The amount is four million leva higher than the sum allocated for 2005. Only a small portion of it will be used for commercial materials. It is not enough, compared to the sums other countries allocate for advertising, representatives of the Bulgarian tourism industry said. A decision concerning who will prepare the national booth for three major exhibitions in Moscow, Berlin and London has not been made yet. Last year, a competition regarding this took place, but the results were not announced as the tourism agency lacked a head. The procedure will be initiated next week, now that Valeri Petrov has been chosen as the agency head. The agency now has to decide whether to evaluate the results of the previous procedure or to initiate a new competition. Choosing the second option will slow down the process significantly, Dnevnik newspaper reported. see source
