Bulgaria becomes more and more popular with alternative forms of tourism
10.05.2012
Bulgaria has changed the image of a predominantly beach holiday destination and gradually it has been prepositioned at the International market as all year round destination for journeys and holidays. Bulgaria is a destinations that offers various services, unique opportunities for balneological and SPA, cultural and historic tourism. This was announced by Ivo Marinov, the deputy minister of the tourism, economy who participated at a discussion under the slogan ‘’National vision for the development of tourism in less popular destinations with significant tourism potential.’’ The discussion is organized within the framework of the 8th exhibition ‘Weekend tourism’ which is held from May 9th until May 11th in Rousse city . Bulgaria becomes more and more recognized on the International map and many foreign tourists come here after they have read much information and they want to spend their vacation in Bulgaria due to the unique things that the country has in store for them!
Bulgarian minister pointed out that a couple of new projects were launched and still some unknown places in Bulgaria should be further promoted and exposed. Thus, the seasonal and geographical concentration of the sector will be overcome and respectively the number of tourists will increase. Current trends in the world are associated with an increased interest in specialized and new products. One of good examples for a communication campaign is the one for the promotion of 12 Bulgaria EDEN destinations. Another promising project is the cultural and tourism route ‘The road of Roman Emperors’ in which Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Romania signed in February. MIET also started a project ‘’Cultural routes on the Danube River’’. Another similar example is the project “Danube Hike’’.
