The combination of friendly climate with remedial mineral water and very good therapeutic facilities warrant successful treatment, rehabilitation and prophylaxis of major diseases.The mineral water used in Balneal Hotel Roza for prophylaxis and treatment has flow rate of 13 lt/sec, mineral content 324 mg/lt., minor content of Radon – 222 Е. The water is hyperthermal at 42°C, weakly mineralized at М 0.331, sulfate-hydrocarbonate-sodium and fluoric with mildly alkaline рН of 8.25 and temperature +56 °С. The water has good drinking and taste properties (low hardness of 0.8Н and high alkaline pН of 8.8), which makes it appropriate for both external applications (baths, pool, tubs, underwater massage and gymnastics) and drinking or inhalatory applications.
One of the substances contained in the mineral water – radon, is a noble gas occurring from the fission of radioactive elements deep beneath the earth surface. The released radon is dissolved in waters traveling through radioactive earth layers. The main mechanism of the balneo-specific effect of radon water consists of stimulation and regulation of cell functions. Radon balneotherapy has proven balneo-specific effect on a number of high-incidence diseases. According to the established norms for safe balneal treatment, Bulgarian radon waters can be used 2 to 3 times per year.
