Archaeological excavations stopped the construction of hotel complex on an isla

Archaeological excavations are likely to postpone the development of the unique island Sveti Kirik near Sozopol into a luxurious 5-star resort.
The island occupies the area of 83 and is located 250m northwest of the Sozopol coastal resort. At the moment scientists explore the area and no construction will begin until the expedition has been finished.
Archaeologists hope that they will find the famous 13-m status of Apollo. The ancient Sozopol was named after Apollo as its ancient name is Apollonia.
The excavations should have been finished by the end of the year. However, 3-5 years are needed in order for the scientists to explore the entire island.
The leader of the expedition expressed her belief that sensational finds will be discovered, including the temple of Apollo and the famous statue.
