Anita Valentinova, source: expert.bg, 06.10.2008

Around 100 million € needed for the fulfilment of the project for restoration of the antique city Sevtopolis, located in the waters of the dam Koprinka. This announced by architect Tilev, the author of the project for restoration and exposure of the ancient Thracian city. According to Mr.Tilev, about 150 million € needed for the construction of the round device, which is expected to encircle Sevtopolis and the exposure of the antique city needs not more than 5-10 million €. Mr.Tilev pointed to the fact that the project for restoration of Sevtopolis is separated into three projects. The first is for the construction of the wall while the second is related to the exposure of the ancient city and the third one is aimed at the overall development of the culture heritage in the Valley of Kings. It is believed that the project can welcome 5 000 foreign tourists only in the first 5 years. In addition, Mr. Tilev said that cultural and historical tourism in Bulgaria shares 2% of tourism field, as it should be taken into consideration that Bulgaria is ranked 3d in Europe regarding its cultural and historical heritage. Mr.Tilev concluded that a project such as Sevtopolis can boost the cultural tourism in Bulgaria.
