An avalanche covered seven tourists in Pirin

Seven tourists were covered by an avalanche in the area Palashitsa, Banderitsa chalet in Pirin Mountain. 34-year old woman from Sofia has been seriously injured. This has been announced by the team of Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko. Nine tourists, members of Sofia’s alpine club, have headed from Banderitsa hut to the area Palashitsa in order to enjoy some extreme downhill. However, their imprudence has caused the landslide of a huge snow cover, and thus the avalanche has swept down seven of them. The team of Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko has reacted in a proper manner and helped the group of tourists. Representatives of the Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko warned skiers, snowboarders and tourists to be very careful and not to undertake any downhill and walks outside the marked ski tracks and suitable paths. It is important for tourists not to overrate their abilities and underestimate the situation in the mountain.
