A growth of the number of tourists from Russian and UK in Bulgaria’s resort Chepelare

The deputy mayor of Chepelare municipality declared that Chepelare expects more tourists from UK and Russia during the new winter season. He also explained that the reason for this growth if the participation of Chepelare municipality in the fund for Plovdiv Airport which is expected to turn into a starting point for all foreign tourists this winter. The organization includes Smolyan, Plovdiv, Chepelare and Assenovgrad municipalities. Thus, each municipality will pay a sum in order to cover at least a part of the losses of the low-cost carrier Ryanair which will service 5 charter flights on a weekly basis. Furthermore, all airfares for Plovdiv Airport will become cheaper and this respectively boosts the tourism in Chepelare and Pamporovo ski resort. Ryanair services tourists mainly from UK and Russia.
