New Year in Pamporovo

The chairman of the local tourist organization ‘Rhodopes’ announced that Pamporovo ski resort is almost fully booked for the New Year’s Eve. Currently the figures show that Pamporovo expects over 10 000 tourists to welcome the new year 2011 as only half of them are Bulgarians. It seems that this year many Britons, Irish, Romanians, Serbians and Greeks have decided to enjoy their party in the sunniest ski resort in Bulgaria. Even though the weather is not so cold, there are excellent ski conditions on the slopes and therefore holidaymakers will be able to enjoy skiing. Even if the resort does not see substantial snowfalls, the snow cannons will be put into operation due to the relatively low temperatures. All hotel owners in Pamporovo are prepared for the workload around the celebration of New Year. Additionally, Mr.Memtsov pointed out that the occupancy rate may expect 70% in the end of March.

The chairman also added that although New Year’s Eve is almost here, people can still book great New Year Packages, because there are holidaymakers who cancel their reservations in the last minute due to unavailability of convenient flight schedules, diseases and other credible reasons. Actually, this year Christmas and New Year packages are from 10% to 17% lower than the last year.
